Improvement through experience. Through our 25 years experience of mold manufacture and the development of our range of standard parts we design our molds and parts, to increase quality of product and reduce the overall costs of a project. Right from the initial stages of a project we aim to make things simpler for everybody right through the process.
Design
The tool designer must think about the solution to the design of the mold not what size and design the standard components should be. With the Cumsa standard parts they can pick off a menu and paste the required part to the mold design. Choosing a standard part reduces design time.
Manufacture
The pockets and locations required to fit the Cumsa parts are all designed with quick installation and easy machining in mind. All pockets are in line of draw so plates do not have to be angled for machining. Most of the parts are held in position with standard fixings from the parting line of the mold ensuring fitting is easier and quicker. Due to the fact that the item is standard the workshop does not have to manufacture stock items therefore concentrating on the heart of the mold……the inserts and slides.
Molding
Down-time in molding shops equates to money down the drain. Stopping production and removing tools from presses to make repairs should be reduced to a minimum. With the Cumsa standard parts repairs and version changes can be made in the machine due to the fact that they can be changed from the parting line with no need to disassemble the mold.
